EV Charging Safety of Sano Energy

Since its establishment, Sano Energy has made charging safety its most core strategic direction. From product design, charging station location selection to installation, operation and maintenance, from initially serving as backup and passive protection for vehicle BMS, to researching battery mechanisms and expanding 36 protection models, Sano Energy has achieved numerous practical results in charging safety.

  • Equipment Safety:

The safety design of the charging equipment itself determines the safety experience of charging related personnel. In order to ensure the safe and reliable operation of electric vehicle power supply equipment, the China Electricity Council and State Grid Electric Power Research Institute Co., Ltd. have jointly revised and drafted mandatory national standards such as the "Safety Requirements for Electric Vehicle Power Supply Equipment" to ensure the intrinsic safety of charging equipment.


Charging equipment should choose flame-retardant components, accessories, and materials, with ventilation, heat dissipation, and dust prevention measures. The design of the equipment inlet structure should meet the requirements of fire sealing. There should also be an over temperature protection function, and a temperature sensor should be installed to monitor the internal temperature. When the internal temperature reaches the protection threshold under rated load operation, the power will decrease or the output will stop.


Sano Energy's charging equipment is designed with consideration for the safety needs of both charging users and equipment maintenance personnel. Through highly reliable safety design and construction, it takes into account the protection against abnormal weather conditions such as water accumulation, and employs multiple measures such as electric shock protection, flame retardancy, and immersion protection to ensure high safety of the equipment in all scenarios.

  • Station Safety:

Charging stations have become the new arteries of cities, and safety challenges for charging stations have also emerged. Various abnormal scenarios such as spontaneous combustion of electric vehicles, sudden weather disasters, personal injury caused by high-voltage equipment, electric shock risks during equipment maintenance, and unauthorized charging during modification may pose a threat to user safety at any time.


A safe charging environment mainly reflects the safety of the location selection of charging stations and the provision of effective safety facilities. The location selection should ensure a safe distance from important facilities such as explosive risk equipment, densely populated areas, electricity, bridges, etc., and be away from low-lying areas prone to water accumulation and geological disasters. At the same time, the station should be equipped with sufficient safety reminders and fire-fighting facilities to ensure the high safety of users' charging scenarios.


In addition, Sano Energy has developed a safety warning product for unmanned charging station scenarios, based on AI image recognition customized training for charging scene recognition algorithms. It can accurately identify scenarios such as fire and smoke detection, smoking detection, children's stay, personnel falling to the ground, modified vehicle charging, and charging equipment being hit. It can detect and respond to safety anomalies in the on-site station 24 hours a day without interruption, ensuring the safety of the charging environment.

  • Platform Safety:

Why are new energy vehicles prone to catching fire while charging? Due to the high current during charging of new energy vehicle batteries, situations such as excessive, heavy, and overheated internal currents often occur. In such cases, inadequate management and control of the BMS system can easily lead to fires.


Sano Energy, with its mature operation and maintenance system, powerful big data platform, stable IoT gateway, and intelligent charging network equipment, can prioritize prevention, eliminate faults and accident hazards at the occurrence stage, timely handle single faults, effectively shield and further reduce the probability of safety accidents.


At the same time, Sano Energy utilizes big model technology to perform real-time data diagnosis and protection against battery overheating, abnormal battery temperature, overcharging, and data failure. It can achieve a 99.9% blocking rate for high-risk vehicles, with training data covering over 95% of current vehicle models on the market. Through the "two-layer safety protection" technology, redundant safety protection and detection of the charging and discharging process of electric vehicles can be achieved, and a "comprehensive physical examination" of the battery can be conducted while charging.
